How to cancel your Vireska subscription (and what you keep until it ends)
Not knowing how to cancel is a common fitness-app complaint. Here is exactly how to cancel Vireska Premium, and what happens to your access and data.
The short answer
If you subscribed through the App Store — the way most Vireska members subscribe — cancel it in your iPhone's Settings app, not inside Vireska. That is an Apple requirement for every iOS app that sells subscriptions, not a hurdle Vireska put in your way. If you subscribed through Stripe (web or Android billing), use "Manage billing" inside Vireska's own Settings screen instead. Either way, cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the period you already paid for, and you keep full Premium access through the end of that period.
Why you can't cancel from inside the app on iOS
Apple requires that any subscription sold through its in-app purchase system be managed through the user's Apple ID account settings, independent of the app itself. This applies to virtually every iOS app with a subscription, not just Vireska. Vireska's backend receives your subscription status — including cancellations — from Apple via RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, and keeps your account's access in sync automatically once you cancel there.
Step-by-step: cancelling on iOS
On your iPhone:
- 1.Open the Settings app
- 2.Tap your name at the top of the screen
- 3.Tap Subscriptions
- 4.Tap Vireska
- 5.Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
Cancelling a web or Android (Stripe-billed) subscription
If you subscribed outside of Apple's or Google's in-app billing, open Vireska, go to Settings, and use "Manage billing" to cancel directly. Stripe processes this payment method, and Vireska never sees or stores your full card number.
What happens to your access and your data
Cancelling stops future renewals only — it is not the same as deleting your account. You keep Premium access through the end of the period you already paid for. If you also want your account and its data removed entirely, that is a separate action (Delete Account, in Settings) and it does not happen automatically just because you cancelled.
If you resubscribe later
Reinstalling the app or signing in on a new device does not lose your subscription. Use "Restore Purchases" in Settings to re-link an active subscription to your account at no additional charge — your entitlement is checked against the status Apple, Google, or Stripe report, not anything stored only on your old device.
Frequently asked questions
Will I get a refund for the current billing period?
No — cancelling stops future renewals, but the current billing period is not refunded under Apple's and Google's standard subscription terms. You keep Premium access through the end of it, except where Apple's, Google's, or applicable law's own refund policies apply.
Does cancelling delete my account?
No. Cancelling only stops Vireska Premium from renewing. To remove your account and data entirely, use Delete Account in Settings — and note that deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription, so cancel it separately if you do not want it to renew.
I reinstalled the app — why does it say I'm not subscribed?
Use Restore Purchases in Settings to re-link your existing subscription to your account. Vireska checks your entitlement against the status Apple, Google, or Stripe report, not anything stored only on your previous device.
